Houma Nation

During our spring break trip to New Orleans last year, we had the amazing opportunity to learn and serve with members of the United Houma Nation. Please read this petition that the Houma nation is circulating to gain federal recognition of their land. These issues are central to the SEEDS big research project: we are going to research the connections between land and identity and are interested to learn how the feelings of positivity, hope, and achievement are related to land ownership, legitimization, and work.
